Beschreibung

Large corporations are discovering their own use cases for blockchain technology, be it in the supply chain, payments, security or management of other processes. Hyperledger Fabric - a project driven under the mentoring of IBM is gaining a steady amount of relevance to support the collaborative development of blockchain-based distributed ledgers solutions for businesses. Touching upon this further is our first speaker, Elke Kunde, who will be talking about the underlying technology and use cases where it could be adopted and implemented. Our second speaker, Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune, extends on this and informs about the importance of blockchain in the commercial and investment banking sector and how this technology will change finance.

SPEAKERS
Here is the current line-up of the upcoming speakers (will be updated over time):

(1) Elke Kunde, Solution Architect, IBM Blockchain Technical Focalpoint DACH
Elke Kunde is IT Architect at IBM Germany and acting as Blockchain Technical Focalpoint for IBM DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
She is an expert in Blockchain standardisation in DIN-Normenausschuss Informationstechnik und Anwendungen (NIA) NA 043 "Blockchain und Technologien für verteilte elektronische Journale" and ISO/TC 307 “Blockchain and Electronic Distributed Ledger Technologies”.
Elke Kunde has more than 20 years of experience in different technical sales roles at IBM, most of them for clients in the financial services sector.

(2) Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune, Professor at Neu-Ulm University & Founder of QWICS
Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune is Professor for Business Information Systems Engineering at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) since 2008. Before joining HNU, he has worked for many years in software development, financial risk management, business analysis, project management and IT consulting in the financial services and automotive industries, namely for HypoVereinsbank and BMW Group. He holds a PhD in physics and studied Physics and Computer Science at the University of Karlsruhe (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT). His research interests include a wide range of topics related to business information systems engineering, ranging from information security to mainframe computing and modernization of legacy systems. In 2018, he founded the Frankfurt-based Startup QWICS (https://qwicschain.com), which develops a platform for combining enterprise application modernization with Blockchain-based Smart Contracts in Corporate and Investment Banking.
