About:

Techrification
noun tech·tri·fi·ca·tion \ ˌtek-rə-fə-ˈkā-shən \

"Techrification is a process of renovating urban neighborhoods by means of the influx of tech giants. This is a common and controversial topic in politics and in urban planning. Techrification can spice up the quality of a neighbourhood while also potentially forcing relocation of current, established residents, businesses and start-ups, causing them to move from a techrified area, seeking lower cost for housing, working and stores. Techrification often shifts a neighborhood’s creative, social spirit by developing new workspaces, businesses and community offerings. The challenge for a melting pot like Berlin is to grow with the incoming opportunities of tech giants while staying original creative."
