The second forum event of the HiPerIn project will focus – maybe befitting the winter season – on the area of food and feed. Using biotechnology to obtain high performance ingredients can open business opportunities in different areas: How to feed an increasing world population? Can industry side streams be utilised for food-grade ingredients? How to respond to increased consumer interest in natural, non-processed ingredients? How to satisfy the demand for functional foods and novel ingredients, e.g. lower in conventional sugar or fat? How to improve feed quality for livestock, decreasing the footprint of agriculture and husbandry?
This forum will give an opportunity for stakeholders from industry, academia, SMEs and others to meet, discuss and learn about new trends in biotech for food and feed.
With talks by Novozymes and Pfeifer & Langen. (Others tbc)
The forum will take place at the Hotel Intercontinental in Düsseldorf, on 08 December 2016, from 4 – 6:30 pm. After the forum event, we will visit the Christmas market in Düsseldorf.
