Event description
This event opens the opportunity to discuss the role of employment, jobs and skills-set to enable the circular economy transition

About this Event

The Circular Economy is the solution to address environmental crises throughout the efficient and sufficient resources use.

The new way of thinking about future circular systems goes beyond the environmental issues we have to challenge, bringing in debates how to finance a new system, or what skills we need to create a new economy based on the circular economy principles. One of the building blocks in transitioning to a circular economy is future jobs and employment opportunities.

We will start with the chance to tune in the online tour through the “NochMall'' space shop, Berlin shop for giving the products a second life.

The discussion will focus on building a common ground to understand circular jobs and transformational steps needed towards new opportunities. Looking at Berlin’s local specifics together with our speakers, we will explore how Berlin’s circular economy sector “hires” and how to move to skilled employment opportunities in the circular economy sector.

Detailed Agenda will follow soon.

Our speakers

Esther Goodwin Brown (Circle Economy): circular job initiatives

Sebastian Daus (FixFirst): opportunities in the repair sector

Frieder Soeling (NochMall): employment in the reuse - what are the challenges?

Dina Padalkina (Circular Berlin): what means to work in the area of circularity - our experience

Join us in the Circular Berlin community event to discuss what it means to work in the circular economy sector and to find out if there is a job market behind the circular economy.
