CIRCULAR FASHION CAMP with ORSOLA DE CASTRO
Event Information
About this Event
Language: English
Circular Economy offers an opportunity to create solutions that combine innovation and economic growth with benefits to the wider society and the environment. However, only recently the concept attracted attention of a wider fashion business community. To shed more light on the concept, we are delighted to invite you to our second Circular Fashion Camp, with a keynote by Orsola de Castro, the Co-Founder of Fashion Revolution.
Orsola de Castro, a legendary upcycling designer, lecturer and an internationally recognized opinion leader in sustainable fashion, has just recently released her first book "Loved Clothes Last: How the Joy of Rewearing and Repairing Your Clothes Can Be a Revolutionary Act". By teaching you to scrutinize your shopping habits and make sustainable purchases, she is on a mission to change the consumerism culture and inspire everyone to buy better, care more and reduce your carbon footprint by simply making loved clothes last longer.
PROGRAM
Loved Clothes Last 18:00 – 19:00
In a book presentation and reading session Orsola de Castro will invite us to cherish and celebrate the clothes which we have longer, reconnect with ourself and our upbringing and explain why the notion of circularity in fashion has deep historical and philosophical origins.
We will then, in an open Q&A session, discuss if Circular Economy has a chance to become a dominant business model in fashion? Are there unexplored opportunities to be created? And, what is needed to drive the transition on the government, firm and individual level?
Circular Fashion Startups: 19:00 – 20:00
To promote creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, the session will end with an interactive discussion where sustainable fashion designers and entrepreneurs will share their stories and present their business models based on the Circular Economy principles. Among others, expect to meet the creative minds behind companies such as NRNY, EMEKA SUITS, RELUV and REPAIR REBELS.
To keep you engaged and connected the event will end with an e-networking session where you will have a chance to mingle with our speakers and partner organizations in smaller zoom meeting rooms, ask questions and share your stories.
