Join the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the DLR (German Aerospace Center) and Women in AI & Robotics in celebrating the International Day of Women & Girls in Science with an Ask a Scientist session on February 10, featuring outstanding women in STEM.
This virtual session is a unique opportunity to meet with and hear from trailblazing scientists and engineers who are working on ground-breaking discoveries.
Teams from FUTURO, Project Surface Avatar, David, Bert, and others will exchange with you about robotics and technology transfer, discuss their illustrious careers, how they got started, share their advice for young and future engineers, talk about career opportunities at DLR, and more!
We look forward to seeing you spark conversations!
The event is for free, happening online at the platform gather.town, and the event language is English. Every person who is interested in studying or working in science, networking with experts, or simply getting insights about STEM: you are warmly welcome to join!
About the hosts
The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the DLR (German Aerospace Center) develops a wide array of robots to enable humans to interact more safely and efficiently with their environments. The robots are designed to act in surroundings inaccessible or dangerous to humans as well as to support humans in everyday life and work.
Lioba Suchenwirth is graciously hosting this event. She is the Vice President of Women in AI & Robotics, and passionate about the mission of closing the gender gap in AI & robotics. Lioba joined the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics at the DLR in 2017, where she is currently responsible for press and public relations.
Women in AI & Robotics is a global network of experts and professionals in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics. As a charitable association, we are working towards gender-inclusive, ethical, and responsible solutions that benefit society.
"Promoting women in scientific and technical careers is very important to us at DLR," emphasised Alin Albu-Schäffer, Director at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics. "'Ask a Scientist' is part of a series of events aimed specifically at women," said Albu-Schäffer. "In addition to scientific exchange, it allows us to showcase the excellent opportunities for women in leadership, research, and junior positions at DLR."
Women in AI & Robotics e.V. is excited to conduct this special event with our friends at the DLR for the third time!
