Live Arts Event with body paint artist and free speech activist Andy Golub

Join us for an evening of Live Arts & Story Telling to celebrate our shared humanity as citizens of planet earth!

We have teamed up with Human Connections Arts to share an unique collaborative arts experience with you at The Ninth, a new co-working and event space in Bonn's city center.

The event provides the opportunity to watch body painting in progress, to snap photos of human canvas art, to meet and talk with three amazing artists who will partipate in Germany's first Bodypainting Day: Andy Golub (New York), Joram Baruch (Amsterdam) and Larissa Koschel (Troisdorf).

6.00 - 8.00 pm - Live Body Painting

8.00 - 8.30 pm - Public Art March through the neighborhood

8.30 - 9.00 pm - Q&A with the artists

The event is free of charge, but donations are welcome. The Kickstarter fundraising campaign for the 2017 Bodypainting Day is still running (until July 17). Please donate & spread the word! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bodypaintingday/bodypainting-day-2017-nyc-amsterdam-berlin

Bodypainting Day debuts in Berlin

Andy Golub has been painting bodies in the public streets of New York since 2007. He started Bodypainting Day in 2014 to enable free artistic expression, body acceptance and human connection through art. By 2016, Bodypainting Day had expanded to Amsterdam, Brussels and San Francisco. This summer, it will premier in Berlin.

Bodypainting Day is a non-commercial event that focuses on the artists voice. The 2017 theme “Humanity” challenges the artists to seek what is on the inside of their model to inspire a painting on the outside. The signup fee for artists in Europe is €25 and for models €50.

"We are looking for talented and dedicated artists with a voice. Various styles are great, the more diverse, the better," says Golub, who decided to make a stop-over in Bonn between the Bodypainting Days in Amsterdam (Aug. 12) and Berlin (Aug. 19).

The 2015 Bodypainting Day theme was “What the World Needs Now”. The 4-hour public painting at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in Manhattan was followed by an artist and model march to the United Nations building.

"Art exists outside of politics. In many ways, it is the most universal things about humanity. Art can show how we are all the same. It can play an important role in bringing people together," says Golub.
