There is an increasing debate in today’s society on the value and importance of self-sovereign digital identity, not only because an individual’s privacy is at stake but also for the future of global citizenship, human mobility and freedom. While the debate on privacy and right to individual data ownership continues to gather increasing momentum worldwide, blockchain has continued to reveal its potential to generate “self-sovereign identity based solutions” - be that in the field of education by enabling individuals to receive academic credentials fully owned by the recipients, with no dependency upon the academic institution for viewing, sharing, and verifying these credentials or solving the problems of current identity management systems on digital platforms like Amazon, Google, and various social media websites.

Join this Disrupt meetup of the Digital Identity community in Frankfurt. This blockchain meetup is also part of the German Blockchain Week 2019. It aims at bringing together blockchain enthusiastic enterprises and individuals that want to get to know the technology, as well as understand how it can be used and applied.
