Through the Asana practice, we will take care of your boda, pranayama and meditation will help to relax the busy minds, and the nature, fresh food and connection with other yogis will deeply nourish.

All levels are welcomed, from beginners to advanced practitioners. The morning yoga practice will be Meditation and Mantra singing followed ba a dynamic hatha yoga session of 1h30 minutes according to Swami Sivananda with individual corrections. In the evenings we will have a deeply nourishing Hatha Yoga practice with long relexation and end the day with peaceful Mantra singing.

Take advantage of one of the best known and most experienced Sivananda yoga teachers, Keshava Peter Weitgasser, that "Yoga" original and unadulterated experience.

Keshava Peter Weitgasser is a former Yoga Monk (Swami Keshavananda) and Interior Architect. He has been a full-time teacher of Yoga since the year 2000. For more than 16 years he worked in the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers of Europe, and assisted thousands of students in their Yoga teacher training courses and in Yoga retreats all over the world. He is a certified Sivananda Yoga Teacher and registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT). The teacher Registry is a listing of teachers worldwide who meet Yoga Alliance's Requirements for teaching experience and have completed their training at a Registered Yoga School. His teaching style is naturally, refreshing and dynamic. Peter`s extensive experience as a Yoga teacher is most appreciated during classes, when he provides precise, individual instructions and corrections on how Asanas are to be performed. His intuition and sensitivity to individual needs and differences restults in a very supportive and enjoyable learning environment, and makes every Yoga class a special occasion. He is an expert in Kirtan and Mantra singing and plays several instruments, like Harmonium, Tabla and Cymbal.

Half-Day Hike through the gentle hills of Samaná

Explore the undiscovered treasures of the Samaná peninsula. The plan is to go on a full-day hike with visiting Boca del Diablo, Playa Frontón and the rural area around Las Galeras. Starting with a boat in Las Galeras we will arrive Playa Fronton after 30 minutes. There we will stay for 2 hours, enjoying the beach and the sea. Drinking fresh coconut water. Then we will walk along the unspoiled coastline, discover different fruits and vegetables while hiking along the cultivable land and get to know the village life in La Guázuma. You will feel all the efforts by experiencing the natural way of the Dominican Republic.

Whale watching in the Bay of Samaná

The bay of Samaná is one the main areas where the humpback whales migrate to in winter. Go on a guided excursion by boat and watch those giants in the sea in their natural environment.

After whale-watching, the trip continues to the small island of Caya Levantado, also called the “Bacardi Island”. This island has a white sandy “dream” beach with shallow waters sloping gently into the water. A delicious lunch will be served here. Before returning by boat you will have time to enjoy this beach or to explore Bacardi Island.

Trip to the waterfall El Limon including horseriding

The waterfall “Salto El Limon” is located amidst a lush tropical landscape on the peninsula of Samaná, approximately an hour away from Las Galeras. This spectacular waterfall drops 150 feet into a natural, beautiful pool filled with fresh, crystal clear water.
You can reach the top of the waterfall on horseback, then hike downwards through tropical jungle until you reach the bottom of this roaring cascade, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the big natural pool.

Ressort facilities

There are 13 private bungalows at the Samaná Ocean View Resort. Each is equipped with a queen size bed, bed linen and towels, night table, reading lamp, table and chairs, safe, ceiling fan and closet. Each one also has a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. Most important is the cozy balcony (in 6 of the bungalows) or the fully-openable picture window (in the other 7 of the bungalows) facing the ocean and with breathtaking views on the Samaná peninsula. The room will be cleaned daily.

The main building includes a large open living space and seating area, a bar, a barbecue grill, a sound system, free WIFI and a fully equipped kitchen.

The swimming pool measures more than 1200 square feet. It can be used 24 hours a day and is attractively illuminated at night. At its longest point the pool measures 45 feet, and is between 4.6 and 5.3 feet deep. There is no lifeguard on duty or any special safety devices for children, so we recommend that only adults and children who know how to swim make use of the pool. Use at your own risk.

The Yoga classes are suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike. Each participant will be supported to perform the exercises accurately, receiving the full attention of the yoga instructor, which is why classes are limited.

Please inform us prior to arrival of any injuries, surgeries in the past 6 months, chronic diseases, food allergies or pregnancy.

Electricity information
We have 24 hours electricity because the company of Las Galeras is a private electricity company. So you will have no problems like in many other parts of the dominican republic with the electricity.

Dressing information
Las Galeras is a beach town where everyone generally wears beach attire. You are recommended to bring shorts, short sleeve shirts, tank tops, and sandals. Be sure to also bring your yoga attire and swimwear.

What to bring
Flashlight, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, camera, toiletries, any required medications.

caribeyoga will provide yoga mats, but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

Passport / visa
Bring a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining before expiry date. Visa according to different countrys, ussualy a tourist card is needed at the entrance to the country.
