DRESDEN-concept Welcome Reception for Visiting Researchers

Dear international visiting researchers at all DRESDEN-concept research institutes,

We are delighted to extend a special invitation to those of you who have arrived in Dresden since summer of 2016. Professor Hans Müller-Steinhagen, chairman of DRESDEN-concept and rector of TU Dresden, together with Dirk Hilbert, mayor of Dresden, invites you and your partner to a Welcome Reception at the Albertinum Dresden on Thursday 11 January 2018 starting at 7.00 p.m. Top international researchers working in Dresden, as well as a string quartet of the Dresden Philharmonic, will be pleased to welcome you and your partners to an evening of interesting discussions, making new acquaintances and exchanging ideas.

As you are surely aware, DRESDEN-concept is a research alliance between TUD and partners from science and culture. This co-operation facilitates the communication and visibility of the excellent research being carried out in Dresden. In particular, the collaboration among DRESDEN-concept partners is aimed at the development and use of synergies in research, education, infrastructure, and administration. Partners co-ordinate strategies to support Dresden’s leading academic areas and identify new and emerging fields of research. The DRESDEN-concept alliance also works on a joint initiative to attract the best researchers to Dresden. The Dresden State Art Collections, one of the cultural partners of DRESDEN-concept, are pleased to provide their Albertinum to host our reception.

Speakers from all Scientific Area Committees (SAC) will come to the stage talking briefly about their field of research as well as their adopted city Dresden. Get to know CRTD group leader Dr. Nikolay Ninov (SAC 1), Dr. Golsa Moayeri Pour from CFAED (SAC 2), Mr. Angelos Filippatos, doctoral candidate at Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology, TU Dresden (SAC 3) and Mr. Manès Weisskircher, researcher at the Chair of Political Theory and History of Political Thought, TU Dresden (SAC 4).
